FALL 2019 ATHLETICS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The Farmington Athletics Department will hold the 2019 Fall Athletics Registration Night on Monday, July 29th at Farmington High School. All Farmington School District Parents/Guardians and their sons and/or daughters, grades 6-12, who are interested in participating in a fall athletics program offered by the Athletics Department are encouraged to attend. Please note that during the fall athletics season 6th grade participation is limited to the sport of girl’s tennis. The registration night will begin at 7pm with a presentation on general athletics information (registration process, eligibility, scheduling, transportation, etc.) followed by sport specific coaches meeting at 7:20pm. All Parents/Guardians and their sons and/or daughters are encouraged to attend the sport specific coaches meetings at 7:20pm. A reminder that all students interested in participating in an athletics program must have a Sports Qualifying Physical Examination on file within three calendar years before any registration or participation is allowed.

Nelson Joins Minnesota Youth Council!

Farmington High School student, Claire Nelson and Farmington High School teacher, Rachel Baumann have been selected as member and adult mentor to the Minnesota Youth Council for the 2019-2020 school year! This year the Council selected only two students from our congressional district, which encompasses the southern Twin Cities metro area and contains all of Scott, Dakota, Goodhue and Wabasha counties.

2019 Graduation is on Friday!

Farmington High School Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 7th at 7:00. Graduation will be held OUTSIDE in Tiger Stadium. Gates open for the stadium at 6:00pm. We hope to see you there!

In honor of the 2019 Farmington High School graduation, we’re highlighting a few of this year’s outstanding graduating class. Today’s Senior Spotlight is: Hunter Conrad! Hunter is a pretty popular guy. He is an actor, a musician and an athlete. He was even voted Homecoming King by his peers — but that’s not why he was nominated for the Senior Spotlight recognition. Hunter was nominated for his outstanding kindness, cooperation and inclusiveness in the classroom. During his time at Farmington High School, staff members have noticed Hunter going out of his way to make sure everyone is included and able to participate. He spotlights the work of other students and advocates for them.

Decision Day is May 1st

In the world of college admission, May 1st represents National Decision Day, the day by which colleges and universities typically require students to accept or reject an offer of admission. To help the class of 2019 celebrate their next steps, the FHS Counseling Department and Administration invites all seniors to the Commons on Wednesday, May 1st during their lunch time for graduation cake and pictures.

Lindquist named Stillman Global Scholar

Terra Lindquist, a senior at Farmington High School, has been chosen as a Stillman Global Scholar. This unique service leadership opportunity is only open to students at Stillman Leadership Schools, where learners are committed to completing at least one local and one global service project each year, and of those students only a few are chosen for this life-changing experience. As a Stillman Global Scholar, Terra will receive leadership training, mentorship, and a special trip to Kenya.
