FHS Learners

Independent School District #192 requires students to pay a $250 for the entire year (If pass is lost/stolen, a replacement pass must be purchased). Beginning October 1 and the first of every month thereafter, the parking fee will be prorated to $30/month through May (ie If purchased Jan. 10, fee is $150). The fee collected will assist in funding parking lot monitoring, repairs, and other associated costs. All registration is done through RevTrak on the FHS Website.

Daily Parking and Permits

All daily parking permits are sold at the East Desk on the 2nd floor for students without permits. The cost for a daily parking permit is $5.00. You must have all of your vehicle information when you come to purchase your daily permit or a permit will not be issued. Daily parking permits are to be picked up at the East desk and the student will be required to put the permit in their vehicle, either on the rear-view mirror or on the windshield, on the driver’s side.

Year Long Parking Permits

Students may purchase permits on the Farmington Fee Pay site and pick up at the FHS East desk on the 2nd floor. All license plate numbers for all of the vehicles that will be using that permit are required on the Student Driving and Parking Permit form.

Parking Lots

Student parking with a valid permit will be allowed in either the East lot or the upper West lots. The lower West lot (near the loading dock and grounds garage) and the South lot are not available for student parking. Free parking is available in the North lot (West of the baseball and softball fields). All vehicles must be registered and display their permit in order to park in the East and West lots other than the grace period of the first week of school. As in the past, students will not be able to pick up their parking pass until all of their fees and fines are paid. Your parking permit MUST be placed on the BACK OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR SO IT IS VISIBLE FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR, WITH THE PERMIT NUMBER FACING OUT OR A FINE MAY BE ISSUED.

Students may park ONLY in student designated areas of the EAST and WEST lots. Students may NOT park in the following areas:

• designated for staff or visitor spots
• the south lots on either side of the flagpoles
• the loading dock area, including the lot next to the stadium entrance

1. Student motor vehicles parked on school grounds MUST DISPLAY A CURRENT PERMIT ON MIRROR OR WINDSHIELD AT ALL TIMES.
2. Vehicles that display references to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or anything offensive to others and not appropriate for school, will be banned from campus.
3. Vehicles should be locked at all times. The school CANNOT accept responsibility for theft, damage, or vandalism to the auto or its contents.
4. Student driven automobiles/motorcycles must be parked in the designated student parking area immediately upon entering the school grounds.
5. School officials may search student vehicles pursuant to Minnesota State Law when there is reasonable cause to believe that tobacco, drugs, weapons, stolen property or any other illegal items that could interfere with school purposes may be present. Failure to cooperate with authorities during such searches will result in consequences applicable to the greatest suspected offense.
6. Students are responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the parking lot. Littering, speeding and/or reckless driving will be grounds for revocation of the parking permit.
7. Handicapped parking is available in the student parking lot for students in need of special parking accommodations. A handicapped sticker or tag must be visible at all times.

Parking is prohibited in the following places:

1. Sidewalk or lawns
2. Staff lots or spaces (red lines)
3. Visitor spaces (red lines)
4. Parking in wrong lot

Parking Fines, Immobilization, and Permit Revocation

Students are expected to park their cars according to state, city and FHS regulations.  Students who display reckless and unsafe driving behaviors may lose their privilege to park in the school lot and will forfeit their parking fee. Students using vehicles to skip school will lose their parking privileges for a period of time. As outlined in the permit form, ISD 192 assumes no liability for vandalism or theft involving student automobiles.

Violations of parking policy could result in disciplinary action, fines, confiscation of the permit, towing, mechanical restraint, and notification of the police. Consequences include, but are not limited to:  

1. Revocation of parking privileges for a specific period of time
2. Parking fines up to $40 each
3. Vehicle immobilization (Das Boot)
4. Towing at the expense of the vehicle owner

Fines can be paid at the East Desk. Any unpaid fines will disqualify the student from purchasing another parking pass and will also follow students and need to be paid before a student is allowed to get his/her cap and gown for graduation.
