FHS has chosen November 11, 2014 to give all of our 10th graders the PLAN assessment (this is required by the state of Minnesota) and give all of our 9th graders the 9th Grade EXPORE.  The PLAN and EXPLORE are both part of the ACT family (EXLPORE – grades 8 and 9, PLAN – grade 10, AND ACT – grade 11) of assessments that Farmington Area Schools gives its students each year.  These assessments give valuable information that we use to determine college readiness in the areas of math, science, English, and reading.  Not only can this data help students determine which high school classes will best prepare them for the postsecondary institution of their choice, it can also help students identify options for after high school.  To help prepare all of our 11th graders for the ACT on April 28, 2015 we will be giving this group of students a practice ACT examine this day as well.  12th graders will have a flexible learning day (they do not need to report), except those 12th graders who have register to take the ACCUPLACER to fulfill graduation requirements.  12th graders will have a postsecondary activity that they will need to complete through Naviance and we are encouraging students to use this day to visit postsecondary institutions of their choice.
