Boys Soccer

A message from Coach Wagner:

Players and parents should attend the all-sports informational meeting Thursday, July 27th to hear more about Farmington High School sports.  There will not be a specific breakout session for boys’ soccer that evening.  

 There will be a MANDATORY pre-tryout meeting for all players and at least one parent on Sunday, August 13th from 7:00-8:00 in the stadium on the West (home side) side to hear about the tryout process and to receive a program t-shirt, string bag, and black and white game socks by paying a booster club membership fee of $75.00.  A proposed booster club fundraiser that all players and families will be expected to participate in with information about when the fundraiser will take place during the season will also be presented as well as the process for electing board members after teams are formed.

There will be a MANDATORY team and individual picture night on Tuesday, August 22nd at the Farmington High School Stadium for all players and at least one parent to elect booster club board members that will represent each respective team within the program.  Varsity will be 6:30-7:00, JV from 7:00-7:30, Sophomore from 7:30-8:00, and freshman from 8:00-8:30.  

Captain's will be running pre-tryout practice sessions Tuesday, July 25 and Thursday, July 27th on the FHS grass fields from 10:30-12:00 and on Saturday, July 29th from 10:30-12:00 on the stadium field. Starting July 31st they will run training sessions on the grass Monday through Friday from 10:30-12:00 for the two weeks ending August 11.

Juniors and Seniors that wish to be considered for nomination for the ExCel Award or the AAA Award should complete the information using this link;

Monday, August 14, 2017: Varsity, JV, B-Squad, 9th Grade (Grades 9-12)

Monday, August 28, 2017: 8th Grade

Tryout Information:

All interested players should report for tryouts starting Monday, August 14th through Friday, August 18th from 9am - 12pm.  Varsity and Varsity bubble players will travel to Rochester Saturday, August 19th approximately 8am - 2pm for a series of scrimmages against Section 1 opponents. Uniforms will be distributed Monday, August 21st from 9am - 12pm and will include individual team practices that morning.

What to bring to tryouts: a positive attitude, comfortable cleats, shin pads, a soccer ball and plenty of fluids.


Starting Tuesday, August 22nd teams will have varying scheduled practice times through the start of the school year dependent on team needs. The season will kick-off on Thursday, August 24th with games in Owatonna at 7pm for all teams.

All student-athletes interested in participating in Boys’ Soccer, must be completely registered with the Athletics Department prior to any participation. It is highly recommended that you register prior to the official start date as listed above. In addition, please make all necessary arrangements to be in attendance on the official start date in the event that participation numbers result in team tryouts at the Varsity, JV, B-Squad and/or 9th Grade levels. All student-athletes must meet appropriate MSHSL and ISD 192 eligibility requirements. If you have questions on athletics eligibility, please contact the Athletics Director.
